Over 50 years of Excellence in Cheese Making
It was 1958 when Swiss immigrant Hans Epprecht began his small business that delivered bulk cheeses to neighborhood stores in Cleveland, Ohio on the southern shore of Lake Erie. Before long, retailers began asking for wrapped, pre-cut cheeses in smaller sizes and in more cheese varieties so they could better satisfy their customers. This is where the Great Lakes Cheese tradition began. Since then, Great Lakes has grown rapidly by acquisition, plant expansions, investment in the best technologies for production and distribution – and by setting high industry standards for service.
Currently, Great Lakes serves the nation's retailers and food service operations with eight strategic facilities across the U.S. We earn this proud tradition of award-winning quality and customer satisfaction every day.
