Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance is provided through New York Life at no cost to you at one times your annual salary. Additional coverage is available for you and your eligible dependents as a voluntary election.

Company-paid short-term disability is available if you become disabled due to a sickness or injury. Voluntary long-term disability coverage is also available to protect your income in the event you are unable to work for an extended period.

Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

Through the company’s ESOP, you are a part owner of Great Lakes Cheese. This means that you play a significant role in the company’s success, and receive a share of the rewards.

Based on profitability, the company can make an annual contribution toward your account. Over time, your account balance can grow from annual contributions and earnings from company valuation and performance of our managed fund of publicly traded stocks. The Plan has a 6-year graduated vesting schedule.

401(k)

Participate in the 401(k) program through Principal to achieve your long-term retirement goals. Choose to contribute pre-tax or Roth post-tax. Select your investments to grow your retirement savings. All funds in the 401(k) are 100% vested immediately.

Paid Personal Time

Full-time employee-owners are granted Paid Personal Time based on the number of years worked. Other personal time-off programs include Bereavement Leave, Parental Leave, and Unpaid Personal Time.

We observe six paid holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day. Full-time employee-owners receive pay if worked full day schedule before and after holiday.
